Pair of antique (1846) first-edition, wonderfully illustrated hardcover books Volumes II and III entitled Ireland It’s Scenery, Character & c. written by Mr. & Mrs. S.C. Hall and published in London, England by Virtue & Co. About the authors and the books: Mr. & Mrs. Hall, the authors, both Irish, travelled through Ireland on five tours between 1825 and 1841 and wrote of their travels in a three-volume set of books. This is Volume II and II of that original three-volume set. The books provide a fabulous written and pictorial record of Ireland and include incredibly well-detailed topographical descriptions, peppered with a well-composed social history on Ireland. Books include more than 400 specially commissioned, original illustrations of Ireland between the two volumes including wonderful colorized maps and topographical charts.
