Underlay: When do I need underlay? Underlay is recommended if your rug is lightweight, like a kilim or a thin short-pile rug, and placed on a hard surface like wood, laminate or tiles. Maintaining and caring for your rug This Moroccan Berber rug is low maintenance and only needs occasional vacuuming.
